hire a virtual assistantSo you finally realized that you can?t clone yourself. We all know there are not enough hours in a day. And when your business starts to grow, you simply just can?t do all the work. Picture this. You have just finished a really successful product launch. Now how are you going to reply to every single email from your customers? A colleague invited you to be an expert on a telesummit. Do you really have the time and patience to learn how to set up a squeeze page where people can sign up to receive your free gift? You are reading this because you probably realized it?s time to hire a virtual assistant. So I?m not going to talk about the benefits of hiring a virtual assistant or convince you to hire one. But before hiring a virtual assistant, you need to learn about the qualifications that you should look for, so keep reading.

For solo entrepreneurs who have just started out in business and cannot afford to hire staff full time, you need not fret. You don?t need to hire your family as your staff as that will only cause you problems later on. The answer to this is your next best friend?hire a virtual assistant.

Now, the next question that you might ask is how to hire a virtual assistant? What qualifications should you look for? Here are some of my suggestions:

  1. Look for a virtual assistant with expertise. A person who does his particular work well is better than someone who tries to do everything at once. For example, if you need a writer to write blog posts for you, pick one who specializes in writing alone. This will give you quality in the output.
  2. Relevant experience. It is equally important to choose an assistant who has worked with someone in your field. Hiring a social media assistant who has worked exclusively with musicians would be difficult for someone with a real estate business. It would also help if you check his/her style of working to see if it blends with yours. You would want someone who satisfies your business needs.
  3. Ask the VA what they are really good at. If you need help with someone and you are hiring a VA with no experience, don?t just rely on the ?I?m willing to learn? statement. Would you hire a VA and teach him/her how to be a VA? It?s good to ask the VA what tasks they are really good at, which tools they have experience in using, etc.
  4. Years of experience. Although not everyone does this, I think it?s still good to ask how long the VA has been in the business. While some VAs may be new in the business, it doesn?t mean that they are not as skilled as others.?

When you are narrowing down your choices for the perfect virtual assistant to work with you, don?t base your choice solely on how much they charge? seriously. Experienced and highly skilled VAs charge what they are worth.?

If you long for that success of accomplishing more in your business, hiring a virtual assistant is your next best move. This will not only unburden you but it will grow your business as you focus on important decisions than on taxing details.
