Facebook?s 51st employee left her career in Silicon Valley, moved to a small Texas town with a population of 2,000, and then shut down her Facebook account. It was time, she decided, to cultivate friends the old-fashioned way - in person, reports the Washington Post.
Katherine Losse, the paper reports, had ?gradually soured on the revolution in human relations she witnessed from within.?
Losse felt that social media has left hundreds of millions of users with connections that are more plentiful ?but narrower and less satisfying.
It was time, Losse decided, for people to renegotiate their relationships with technology.
