I have always been a keen sportswoman and loved anything to do with winter sports, skiing and snowboarding being my two most favourite activities. I used to practice in my home town on a dry ski slope but this was no comparison to my first holiday in North America on the greatest excellent mountains imaginable. The ski resort where I stayed was out of this world and actually well run from the skiing and snowboarding lessons right down to the way the resort catered to the guest?s each need.

My mother and I talked over the possibility of me taking a snowboarding instructor?s course. She encouraged me to do what I thought was best for me so after much debate with myself and tons of study on the internet I left university. Taking the possibility I moved to North America and enrolled in a ski academy where advisors would instruct me in all the fine points of becoming a top notch instructor.

Situated in an excellent area the academy had first-rate snow slopes surrounded by divine scenery and I was eager to get started on my way to fulfilling my dream of becoming a snowboard instructor. Everything was ideal from the housing to the instructors. Even the night life when we all got together to discuss the day?s events and the arrangement was for the following day.

I constantly called home and reassured my mother that I was fine and having the best time of my life learning more and more about the sport of snowboarding. It isn?t as easy as hopping on a board and letting go. Snowboarding is an art you need to master so you can participate safely.

The remarkable setting of North America, the camaraderie of my fellow pupils and the team spirit all added to the training all inspired me in getting a first class qualification. I would soon be able to teach those folks who wanted to snowboard, wherever in the world. After learning about snowboarding teaching, the correct technique and methodology I was ready to go onto the next level.

I was taught all about first aid, how to react if ever in the vicinity of an avalanche as well as how to interact with brand-new clientele, being aware of their worries and fears. Snowboarding is a quick, often hazardous winter sport so it was important that I stayed level-headed and calm in any eventuality.

Mom came to visit and was astonished at how I had grown in assurance and at my ability to discipline folks snowboarding. It set her mind to rest and she was chirpy I had chosen this profession and was surrounded by accommodating, caring colleagues. With my instructor?s qualification I can train the beginners to intermediate snowboarders and should I go back to university I can always take part-time lessons.
